Nora had her first real sleepover with her two friends Mckayla and Syndey. It was a pretty tame sleepover since all girls went to bed by 10pm! We had a campfire and they got to roast hot dogs and smores. It was fun to see how excited Nora was to have them over!

Miller farm house
Brian's grandparents are getting ready to move off the farm and into the cottages in Kalona. I took Molly and Sean down one morning to get some pictures of the house and get a few things. The farmhouse and 80 acres is going to be sold at auction on Nov. 11th. I had a wonderful lunch with his grandparents and Molly enjoyed playing with the kittens! It is going to be a change for them to move off the farm. Nita told me that she was glad that she could do the move with Daniel instead of one of them having to do the move alone. I know that it was tough to make the decision to move but I think they are wise in doing it at a time when they both are still healthy and can have each other for support.
Here are some pictures of the farmhouse.

Northwestern game
Iowa played the night game this year against Northwestern. They did some "tricks" during the game by having the fans hold up different cards. The first time we flipped over the cards it was the american flag and then the second time it said "Go Hawks" on one side and "ANF" on the other (America needs farmers).
They also had each section wear a different color so the stadium was black and gold. It looked really cool.
My mom came to town so she watched the kids so we we could tailgate prior to the game. We had a blast all day and the game was exciting as well. The hawks won 41-31! Looking forward to more football the next few weeks.

Peterson visit
My cousin Marlene lost her mom, Lynna, last week. I was very torn about going to Abby's wedding and heading home to Indiana to be at the funeral. I decided last minute that it was going to be to stressful to try and make it back for the memorial service. Lynna was an amazing women who was generous. She helped my mom and I decorate for my wedding and I have fond memories of her growing up. She had cancer for several years (14 I think) and fought hard to beat it for a long time. She moved to Rochester in July to be close to Marlene and Brent but her health really faded fast over the summer.
Marlene and Brent stopped by our house on the way home from the memorial service to Rochester. I was so happy to see her and reconnect a bit. I can't imagine how hard all of this is on her so it was good to talk and be with her for awhile. It happened to be Brent's birthday when they stopped by so we had an ice cream pie to celebrate. He enjoyed having all three girls help with the candles!

Abby and Nick's wedding
Brian's cousin Abby got married this past weekend in Des Moines. The wedding was in a beautiful church. Brian's brother Jeff did the ceremony and did a great job. The reception was held at the Raun center on the top floor. The view as pretty awesome with windows looking out over the city. The kids had a great time hitting the dance floor. We are so happy to have Nick as part of the Miller family!
Our family at the end of the night-a little hot and tired but still looking good!!
Waiting for the bride to come!
