My aunt torey (my mom's sister that lives in CA) made the girls the cutest aprons and sent them to us. She was asking my mom if we had any matching aprons and mom told her that I loved the aprons with the dick and jane print. She found the dick and jane print and made these awesome aprons! Thanks, we love them!

Wilson's Apple Orchard
We love Wilson's Apple orchard..for several reasons. First, we love the tractor ride to get the apples, second the apple turnovers are to die for, third we get to spend time with friends there, and we love the apple pies!
We went to the apple orchard three times in two weekends this year! First we went out with Brian's mom one Sunday afternoon. We rode the tractor, got apple turnovers, and looked at the pumpkins.
The Martinson family came back from Miami for a short visit so we went and of course at more apple turnovers and bought more apple pies!
The third time we went it was with Nora's preschool class. We did a picnic lunch at the orchard and then rode on the tractor. Only one apple turnover this time and no pies:) We can't wait for the orchard to open again next fall!!

Hawkeye Game
Nora had her first Hawkeye game experience this past weekend. We rode the hawkeye express down to the stadium, tailgated, went and saw the band and herkey, and headed into the game. She did really well for the first quarter then got a little restless and hot. She made it all the way until the third quarter and then I took her home on the train. It was a fun day for everyone!!

Balanced Literacy Case Study
This summer I have been taking a class called Balanced Literacy and Instruction. It sounds really boring but I have gotten a lot out of the class. The major component of the class is to create a paper and presentation on the components of a balanced literacy approach to teaching. The presentation had to be a workshop for 10 or more teachers and parents. I spent all summer working on this paper and workshop and am finally done..and I got an A! Here are some pictures from my workshop. This was probably my favorite class that I have taken so far.
