Fourth of July

The 4th of July fell on a Wednesday this year so it was a little harder to make a trip anywhere, but we had a great time just at home. The temperatures have been over 100 for the past week making any plans outdoors miserable! On Tuesday, the 3rd, we went to Shilo to see the fireworks. We met up with Josh and Sarah Shank and their family as well as the Deah and her family. They had great fireworks but it was REALLY hot. By the time we got home it was 11:30 so we had some tired kids the next day.
On the 4th we went to the Coralville parade and sat at Jessica and Tom Dunn's house. They had a tent and a slip and slide for the girls. We were glad for both! Then in the evening we had a bunch of friends over to celebrate my birthday and watch the fireworks from our house. We had pizza and dairy queen cake! Again it was a late night but we had a lot of fun.

Photo Challenge for July

11 months

Sean has changed so much over the past two months. He is now taking four or five steps, has two front teeth and can crawl up the steps in 5 seconds flat! He is full of smiles and loves to wave "HI" to whoever will look his way. I am still loving him as a baby a few months longer, now that he is almost walking he doesn't want me to snuggle as much. We are working this month on teaching him how to put up one finger to show he is one-the girls love doing this with him!

Our vacation photos

 Every other year we have a beach week with two other families and this year was it! We left on June 6th and started driving out to Virginia. We spent a night with Nick and Courtney in Harrisonburg Virginia and then traveled down to the Outer Banks to meet up with other friends from Harrisonburg. We spent a week at the beach with Josh, Sarah, Aaron, Melinda and their kids. Then we traveled back to Harrisonburg and stayed with Mitch and Melanie and got to see Colt for the first time. Then we drove to Indiana and spent father's day with my dad and mom. We got back to Iowa on June 17th, the total drive was 2, 658 miles and we calculated that we spent over 48 hours in the van traveling. We had a wonderful vacation full of great memories! Here are just a few photos from our trip.
