10 year anniversary trip

Brian and I will celebrate our ten year anniversary on June 8th. It is amazing what God has done in our lives over the past ten years! I feel so blessed to be married to someone who is so focused on our marriage and our family.
Marriage is hard work and when you have children it becomes even harder. One thing that has helped our marriage is the time that we get to spend together, without children. We decided for our ten year we would take a trip to Cozumel Mexico!! We went for an entire week, my mom came and stayed at our house with the kids, and it was amazing.
Top Highlights of Cozumel
1. We rented a car and went to the Caribbean side of the island. We spent the day driving down the coast just walking along beautiful beaches.
2. Breakfast each morning. We had a restaurant outside our room and each morning we would sit and talk and drink coffee for about an hour before we started our day of lounging.
3. The beaches and pools and my books. We really didn't do anything on our trip other than eat and lay by the pool or beach and our resort had really nice pools and beach area. I was able to finish five books on my trip. Good thing I started Fifty Shades of Grey there and could keep reading without interruption!
4. Evening dinners (did I mention we at a lot!). Each night we had dinner reservations and I loved getting ready each night. It was such a wonderful feeling to have time to get ready and dressed up.
5. The amount of deep and quality conversations Brian and I could have about our lives right now.

So we had an amazing trip and I am so thankful that my mom was able to be with our kids, what a wonderful anniversary present! We stayed at the Occidental Grand Resort, and it was amazing. Here are some of the photos we took

Iguana in Cozumel

In Cozumel we had these huge Iguanas that would come around the pool and just sit in the sun. Some people would try and feed them, against what the signs all said. Brian got a video of one lady trying to feed the Iguana and it bit her..so funny!! You have to watch until the very end to see the part where she gets bit, it is a little boring until then, sorry!

Soccer

Brian is coaching the girls soccer teams again this year. Nora is playing on Wednesdays on the Green Union and Molly plays on Mondays and she is the Orange Broncos. They really enjoy playing and Brian does a great job with both teams.

Sean 9 months

It is getting harder to keep him in the basket to take these pictures!

Sean is now pulling himself up and putting everything he finds in his mouth.  He is such a fun, sweet and happy baby.

Books of the Bible

Nora has been working all year in Sunday School learning how to sing the books of the Bible. She has done such a great job and I am really impressed (and a little embarrassed because I don't know them as well as she does!!). Hope you enjoy the video.

Sean at 8 months

This is video I did of Sean at 8 months. I was trying to get him to say some of the "words" he knows, but it really wasn't working. It is still a cute video!

Nora's Birthday

We had a wonderful weekend celebrating Nora's 6th birthday. She is growing and changing so much, and so fast! All she wanted for her birthday was an American Girl Doll (McKenna, the doll of the year). I was not excited about spending that much on a doll that I wasn't sure she really wanted. We talked to her about how expensive the doll is and that she needed to make a choice between a doll or a friends party for her birthday. This was my way of making sure she reallywanted the doll. She stuck with wanting the doll, so that was her present. We did have a Miller pie night and celebrated then with a cake so she did have a family party.

McKenna's warm up outfit and accessories.

Opening Mckenna!

Our friends the Hinderackers came over for Miller pie night and Rachel made this wonderful cake-the entire cake was chocolate with a chocolate fudge center!! The cake was very cool!

Nora at 6 years

  • Nora has a very outgoing and friendly personality, she is our little socialite!
  • Loves school and especially reading and writing. We are so proud of how well she is doing in Kindergarten and how much she enjoys school.
  • Right now she is into riding her bike and will ride with me when I go on a run.
  • Nora is taking dance and swim lessons and enjoys both of them.
  • Nora is a great big sister to both Molly and Sean, she is my little helper. Sean will get the biggest smile when Nora gets home from school, he really likes the way she plays with him.
Looking back over the past six years I am so proud of the girl that Nora has grown to be. She still loves to be in charge and is always the teacher when she plays school at home. It has been useful in her teaching Molly everything she needs to know for preschool!
Nora we love you so much and I am so excited to watch you grow and change!
