State Fair 2010

The past three years Jim and Deb have taken the girls and I to the Iowa State fair for a week. We knew when we left that it could rain, but we got there and it was pouring! It rained until around 1 so we did mostly indoor stuff. Nora wanted to ride on the different rides but they were all closed. I was able to con her into not being to upset by buying her the pink fluffy cowgirl hat!
We ate lots of fair food, watched cheerleaders and tumblers, petted lots of different animals, and enjoyed a day with the girls.

The funniest part of the day came when Nora had to use the restroom NOW. The closest thing was a port a j0hn. We went over and she opened the door and said, "Mom, if I go in there I will never be a true princess!" I started laughing and told her she would still be a true princess if she went. How funny!! My daughter knows what it takes to be a princess and it is not an outhouse!

visit from the Lizzie

As I posted earlier Nora's best friend Lizzie moved to Miami in June. They came back for a short visit with family in Des Moines and stayed with us for one night. This is my favorite picture of our two beautiful girls! We love you Lizzie!!

Des Moines Zoo

We woke up one beautiful Sunday morning and I told Brian that we should go to the zoo. So we packed up a lunch and our girls and headed to Des Moines. We had such a fun day! Molly loved the playground and just running around the different kid areas. Nora got to ride a camel and feed an ostrich.
After lunch we called Brian's friend Brett and met him for ice cream and a really fun little shop in west Des Moines. Then we decided to go over to home acres furniture store and get Molly a big girl bed! It didn't take long to find exactly the bed for her..a cream victorian bed! It is so pretty and I can't wait to see how it looks in her room.
Exhausted, we headed back to Iowa City for baths and bed!

Megg and Alex's wedding

Brian's cousin Alex got married to Megg Neary and they asked if the girls would be in their wedding. Both Megg and Alex are special people to our family. During the past year Megg has gone to dental school in Iowa City and Alex has been living in Cedar Falls. We have gotten to know Megg and the girls adore her. It is an honor that they get to be in the wedding.

The wedding went really well and the girls did a great job. Nora got a little nervous at the end and Brian ended up going down the aisle with her. Later he said that he never thought he would walk his four year old down the aisle. The girls looked so cute and we had a great time at the reception as well-BEAUTIFUL day!

Katie did the girls hair for the wedding-way to go it looked awesome!

Molly is 2!

Molly turned 2 while we were in Michigan. We had a little party in MI but then we also did a small party when we got home. I think that it is fun that our birthdays are only a day apart.
These are pictures from the party we had at Jim and Deb's house with the Miller's.
