visit from the Lizzie

As I posted earlier Nora's best friend Lizzie moved to Miami in June. They came back for a short visit with family in Des Moines and stayed with us for one night. This is my favorite picture of our two beautiful girls! We love you Lizzie!!

Des Moines Zoo

We woke up one beautiful Sunday morning and I told Brian that we should go to the zoo. So we packed up a lunch and our girls and headed to Des Moines. We had such a fun day! Molly loved the playground and just running around the different kid areas. Nora got to ride a camel and feed an ostrich.
After lunch we called Brian's friend Brett and met him for ice cream and a really fun little shop in west Des Moines. Then we decided to go over to home acres furniture store and get Molly a big girl bed! It didn't take long to find exactly the bed for her..a cream victorian bed! It is so pretty and I can't wait to see how it looks in her room.
Exhausted, we headed back to Iowa City for baths and bed!

Megg and Alex's wedding

Brian's cousin Alex got married to Megg Neary and they asked if the girls would be in their wedding. Both Megg and Alex are special people to our family. During the past year Megg has gone to dental school in Iowa City and Alex has been living in Cedar Falls. We have gotten to know Megg and the girls adore her. It is an honor that they get to be in the wedding.

The wedding went really well and the girls did a great job. Nora got a little nervous at the end and Brian ended up going down the aisle with her. Later he said that he never thought he would walk his four year old down the aisle. The girls looked so cute and we had a great time at the reception as well-BEAUTIFUL day!

Katie did the girls hair for the wedding-way to go it looked awesome!

Molly is 2!

Molly turned 2 while we were in Michigan. We had a little party in MI but then we also did a small party when we got home. I think that it is fun that our birthdays are only a day apart.
These are pictures from the party we had at Jim and Deb's house with the Miller's.

Fourth of July

We spent the fourth of July weekend going with the Yoder family to the farmhouse in upper Michigan for a family reunion. I grew up going to this farmhouse in Michigan so it was special for me to be able to take my family to visit the farm.
Since it was my entire family there was not room for all of us to stay there so we rented a house with my parents, brother, and my aunt and uncle and their daughter and granddaughter. The house we had was perfect and it was really close to the farm so we could still be around for the reunion.
The reunion gave us time to catch up with a lot of family that I have not seen in awhile. We had yummy food, played a scavenger hunt, went on a hayride, and just enjoyed being together. On Sunday the aunts and uncles watched the grandkids and all the cousins went tubing down the Ausable River. This was a highlight for me and Brian!
The last night they threw a birthday party for me and Molly. My birthday is the 5th of July and then Molly's is the 6th.
