Peterson's visit

My cousin Marlene, her husband Brent and their daughter Meg came to stay with us for the weekend from Minnesota. The adults went to the Iowa Minnesota football game and the girls had fun with Ashley (our babysitter). The picture above is cute because it shows all the blond girls playing together. The funny thing is that my side of the family doesn't have blond hair so it is rather strange that all the girls have the same color hair. It was exciting to take Brent and Marlene to the Iowa game and see how they liked the tailgate and the stadium. They did a good job of being neutral during the game and not all out cheering for Minnesota! It is great that we got to spend time with them and hopefully it is something that we can keep going.

Thanksgiving 09

This year for Thanksgiving my mom and dad and Brian's parents came to our house for dinner. My mom was a huge help in making the meal and Deb brought things..so having the meal at our house was pretty easy:) Thanks for parents! We had a fun and relaxing day. The girls loved having both sets of grandparents to pay attention to them.

Playhouse Disney Live!

Grandma Miller took Nora to see Playhouse Disney Live in Cedar Rapids. Nora loved the show!! Thanks grandma!

Hawkeye Game

Iowa played Northwestern today and it was a beautiful day so we decided to take Nora with us to the tailgate for awhile. In the morning Brian and her rode the train in and then I came a bit later when Ashley came to watch Molly. When I got there I took Nora to see the band and Herkey. She was so excited to get her picture taken with him! I told her that Brian needed to take her back on the train and she said, "no mom, I don't know what it looks like in there (the stadium) and I really need to see what is happening!" She really wanted to stay and I wish she could.
When she got to the tailgate her grandpa and made sure she had chocolate milk and a chocolate donut to eat for breakfast! Her grandpa knows what makes her happy!
So all that about the tailgate and the sad part was the Iowa lost against Northwestern 10-17. The quarterback got hurt during the first quarter and it was all down hill from there. The Hawks are now 9-1 and we head to Ohio State. Brian and I will be there next week with Andy and Lisa. It should be a fun game!

Happy Halloween

The girls went as butterflies this year. They looked so cute in their outfits. Nora got cold so they came in and Nora just helped pass out candy. They had such a fun time dressing up. I took advantage of the fact that they would let me dress them alike this year!

Birthday Party

This is a picture of my uncle Darrell, my Dad, my Aunt Bev, my cousin Marlene and me.
Darrell turned 60 and my aunt, my mom and dad, and I went up to Rochester MN for the birthday party at Marlene's house. The rest of my family didn't come because of the flu! It was a good time and fun to see Marlene and Brent's house.

We got the flu...

So the flu has hit Nora this past week. We came home from Branson on Wednesday and when we stopped to eat lunch Nora got sick. Brian and I both attributed it to the fact that we had eaten JUNK the whole week and Nora was not used to that kind of food. Then she woke up Thursday and was not feeling well. I was so bummed...it was her class picture day at school. She didn't have a temperature but then she started getting sick. I felt so bad for her. She didn't understand at all why she was getting sick.
I told her that she had germs in her tummy that made her sick. She said (after she got sick again)"Mommy, I know why I am throwing up, there is no hole in my tummy to get the germs out." She was sure thinking!
So today is Sunday and we took turns going to church since we don't want to expose anyone. I am away doing some school work. Brian said take a break..it could be a long week. Not that we already didn't have a long weekend! I hope Nora gets better. It is so hard to see your child sick. We pray that this virus doesn't get anyone else in our family!
